On September 3, 2025, a grand ceremony was held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti - Fascist War. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairperson of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech and reviewed the troops.

 

Xi Jinping emphasized that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was a great and arduous war. Under the banner of the anti - Japanese national united front advocated by the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people achieved the first complete victory in resisting foreign aggression in modern times. The victory is not only a military success but also a moral and political one, symbolizing the triumph of justice over tyranny.

 

A military parade also took place, with 45 formations (echelons) being reviewed. Most of the weapons and equipment on display were the main battle equipment in active service made in China, and most of them were shown for the first time. This grand ceremony is a solemn reminder of history and a powerful declaration of China's commitment to peace and development.
