The sealing performance of the floating oil seal is affected. It may be scratched by sharp angles such as threads and undercuts during disassembly and assembly. To prevent this phenomenon, we can take the following methods.

1. When the floating oil seal must pass through internal threads or radial holes, the inner diameter of the internal thread or the diameter of the radial hole should be larger than the outer diameter of the floating oil seal.
2. When the floating oil seal needs to pass through the external thread or the recess, a special sleeve should be placed on the corresponding position. The outer diameter of the external thread or the diameter of the recess can also be smaller than the inner diameter of the floating oil seal.
3. A lubrication introduction angle of 15-30° should be used at the end of the cylinder, piston, piston rod and guide sleeve.
4. In order to reduce the installation and disassembly resistance of the floating oil seal, lithium soap-based grease or hydraulic working oil should be applied to the corresponding position that must pass through the floating oil seal, and try to prevent excessive stretching of the floating oil seal to avoid plasticity. Deformation affects the sealing performance of the floating oil seal.
