(1) Ladder type
The working surface of this type of floating ring is a spherical surface with a large diameter, and the axial section has a stepped shape. The working surface is concave. The working sphere and the sealing bright band maintain an angle of 1 to 2 degrees. Each sphere has a butterfly shape with a bright band seal. The stepped type saves materials and labor, and the lubrication performance and heat dissipation of the working surface are better. The disadvantage is that the total width of the working surface is narrow, and the use of hand life surface is limited.

(2) Flare type
The working surface of this floating oil seal is also a large-diameter spherical surface with a concave center, and the cross-section is flared, and the seal is completed by its bright band. The advantages of the flared floating ring are similar to the stepped type, the disadvantage is that the width of the working surface is narrower, but it is slightly wider than the stepped type, and the service life is slightly better than the stepped type.

(3) Wide spherical type
The working face of this type of floating oil seal has been extended to the root of the inner hole, which greatly increases the total width of the working face, thereby relatively increasing the service life, and is more popular. However, it is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and the cost is relatively high.

(4) Wide groove type
The working surface of this type of floating oil seal is the same as the wide spherical type, but inside the bright band of the seal, there is a groove of semi-circular oil concentric with two bags, which plays the role of oil storage, lubrication and heat dissipation. The disadvantage of this type of oil seal is that it takes more time and costs more. Due to the groove, the total width of the working surface is reduced, and the life is not as wide as the spherical surface.
