Harsh working environments including heavy dust, mud and variable temperatures easily cause component wear and equipment failure, making high-quality sealing technology the key barrier to safeguarding continuous machine operation.
Persistent operational wear, frequent equipment downtime and insufficient high-end spare part supply have long plagued the global construction, mining and agricultural machinery sectors. As industrial equipment operates under harsher working conditions and higher load intensities worldwide, durable, precision-engineered sealing components have become a core determinant of machinery stability and service life.
1. Whether the floating oil seal is installed correctly has a great impact on whether it can be used well. Taking the A-type floating oil seal as an example, preparations must be made first. Clean the equipment and floating seal seat to ensure there are no burrs, impurities, oil stains, etc. For old equipment, you can first use a scraper to remove dirt and rust on the surface of the floating seal chamber, then clean it with a non-oil-based cleaning agent, and finally wipe it clean with silk cloth or suede. And check whether the floating oil seal is intact and clean, and whether there are any damage or scratches on the sealing surface. If necessary, it needs to be ground and repaired. The floating seal ring should be handled carefully to prevent damage or deformation. Composite installation chamber dimensions and assembly dimensions. Place the O-rings on the bottom of the back conical surface of the floating seal ring, and stretch and adjust appropriately to avoid distortion or uneven stretching.
2. To ensure accurate installation during installation, it is required to install horizontally downward and avoid tilting, vertical or upward installation. As shown in the figure, it is recommended to use an installation tool. Place the installation tool on the outer circumference of the floating seal ring, align the O-ring horizontally with the entrance of the floating seal seat chamber, and steadily apply pressure on the installation tool. The installation tool holds the O-ring at the bottom of the back taper of the floating seal ring so that its outer diameter is kept to a minimum. This will allow the O-ring to slide more easily into the floating seal chamber. And avoid the sealing surface and O-ring from being poked and scratched. When the installation tools are missing, a thinner and harder O-ring can be used instead of the installation tools.
3. Check the position of the O-ring to ensure it is level and not twisted or arched. If so, it needs to be adjusted and restored. Check the parallelism between the sealing surface of the floating seal ring and the installation datum plane of the floating seal seat. It is generally required that the deflection should not exceed 1/2000 of the outer diameter of the floating seal ring. Apply a clean lubricating oil film evenly on the sealing surface. When aligning the equipment, do it smoothly and gently, and do not damage the sealing surface.
