The floating seal is an important seal on mechanical equipment. The prudent and standard of installation, maintenance and maintenance is the basis for the normal operation of the floating oil package with the machine. As a spare part, the floating oil seal is worn out and it is necessary to check and replace it in time. So, how do you judge whether the wear level of the floating oil seal meets the standard for replacing new parts?

Normally, during the wear process, the floating seal of the casting can automatically compensate for the wear, and the floating seal interface (a contact strip with a width of about 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm is used to keep the oil lubricated and prevent the entry of external dirt) It will continue to update automatically, slightly widen and gradually move toward the inner hole of the floating seal ring. By checking the position of the sealing tape according to the caliper, the life and wear of the remaining sealing ring can be estimated.

When the bearing and seal ring are worn flat, the oil-resistant rubber ring with a thickness of 2~4 mm can be padded between the seal sleeve and the end face of the hub according to the degree of wear. After installation, the gland assembly should be free to rotate on the hub. In addition, a gasket with an outer diameter of 100 mm, an inner diameter of 85 mm, and a thickness of 1.5 mm may be used to compensate the bearing wear amount between the bearing outer ring and the seal housing support shoulder. When the height of the gland is less than 32 mm and the bearing width is less than 41 mm, the new product should be replaced.
